DOOR SWING CLEARANCE

A room can be big enough and still fail because the door cannot open.

HausRay keeps each door attached to its real host wall, hinge endpoint and swing direction so furniture-fit decisions include the space a door actually needs.

Accuracy ruleSource proportions stay locked. Estimated dimensions remain visibly estimated.
HOW IT WORKS

From source plan to a decision you can trust

01

Trace the host wall

The opening belongs to one explicit wall segment instead of floating freely in the model.

02

Confirm the opening span

Keep the traced door width unless you have real measurement evidence.

03

Set hinge and swing

Choose the hinge endpoint and inward/outward direction that matches the source or site.

04

Place the real furniture

HausRay checks whether required furniture intersects the door-swing zone.

HAUSRAY

Regional door sizes are a scale clue, not a redraw command

If a plan has no dimensions, a regional door prior can help estimate one global scale. The traced opening itself stays where the floor plan shows it; HausRay does not widen the door independently just to match a typical size.

HAUSRAY

Hinge direction matters in small apartments

In compact homes, moving a cabinet by only a few centimetres can be the difference between a usable entrance and a blocked leaf. That is why hinge and swing are part of canonical geometry rather than decorative 3D animation.

FAQ

Questions people ask before trusting a floor plan

Can HausRay infer the door swing from a floor-plan arc?

The workflow can use the source symbol as a proposal, but the user should be able to confirm or correct hinge and swing when the source is ambiguous.

Does HausRay replace a traced door with a “standard” door?

No. Regional sizes may estimate global scale only. The source opening remains unchanged unless an explicit user correction is made.
